MODELMAKING
I love to pack layers of detail into my miniatures and character sculpture. It is such a joy to bring to life fantasy worlds and make them tangible. You can see behind-the-scenes and step-by-step videos over on my YouTube channel on the link below:

Modelmaking, and particularly miniature modelmaking has been a passion of mine for years. My main source of inspiration is fantasy worlds such as J.R.R Tolkien's Middle-earth.
My passion for this comes through in miniature models and character sculpture, very similar to high end collectibles you can buy from workshop's such as Wētā Workshop down in New Zealand.
I take extra care in the research of each piece from matching the likeness of sets, characters and props to the storytelling. Each miniature or sculpture I feel needs to tell a story, delving into what we know from the films or books.
Attention to detail is paramount when it comes to miniatures and character sculpture, with an aim of being as screen accurate as possible. All my miniature work features as many different materials and process as possible, which showcases a variety of textures and finishes. From 1mm resin moulds to miniature woodwork.
I have made two pieces of the hobbit hole 'Bag End' with two very different stories to match, as well as a large miniature depicting Rivendell in the Third Age. Another of my favourites features the cursed sea captain Davy Jones from 'Pirates of the Caribbean' playing his organ.

Below shows some in depth explanation on how and why I make fantasy film miniatures, along with some progress photos.
