Osprey's are one of the worlds most prolific fishermen, with fish being up to 90% of their diet. They are a symbol of vision and power, with a respect for their keen sight in Native American cultures. They are also seen as a survival icon, as the species almost became extinct in the mid-20th century due to the pesticide DDT being used which made their shells too thin. However, since it's banning, osprey numbers have soared and are thriving once again.

This sculpture captures the grace in motion of an osprey catching a rainbow trout, a symbol of the delicate balance between predator and prey. It focuses on the harsh reality of survival in action. Ospreys are true masters of their craft, effortlessly catching and carrying large fish from the water. A fine outline of Scotland has been etched onto the base of this sculpture, a homage to the osprey's home.

Made from 160gsm pastel paper, each feather has been individually hand cut, painted and glued onto the body, bringing the sculpture to life with each feather. A real showstopper of a sculpture, this piece is dramatic and elegant, a perfect unique statement piece for any collection.
