Bloodline, a life-size cold cast bronze of Freddo, Dartmoor Zoo’s male Amur leopard, captured mid-stride with one paw raised in a timeless pose of power and poise. Yet the work speaks to more than the strength of one animal; it represents survival itself.
With fewer than 150 Amur leopards left in the wild, each birth is a rare triumph. At Dartmoor Zoo, Freddo and his companion Lena have become central to this story. Their cub Zeya carries forward a fragile but vital bloodline. The title reflects both the legacy of this family and the hope their lineage brings to the world’s most endangered big cat.
Set exclusively at six editions, Bloodline is as rare as the animal it portrays. Each edition symbolising Freddo, Lena, and their cub Zeya, the living legacy of a species on the edge. The first will stand at Dartmoor Zoo before being auctioned to raise vital funds for conservation, with every subsequent edition continuing to support their work.
In Bloodline, the strength of Freddo is preserved not only in bronze, but in meaning, a testament to survival, legacy, and the fight to protect a species on the edge.
A 5% donation of every sale from this edition will be made to Dartmoor Zoo in support of their Amur leopard conservation work.
